About the Role

Technical Services Engineers at MongoDB advise customers and solve complex MongoDB challenges using exceptional problem-solving, customer service, and deep technical expertise across the entire MongoDB ecosystem, including database server, drivers, cloud, and services like Atlas and Cloud Manager.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside largest customers to solve complex challenges, addressing questions on architecture, performance, recovery, and security.
• Serve as an expert resource on best practices for running MongoDB at scale.
• Act as an advocate for customer needs by interfacing with product management and development teams.
• Contribute to internal projects, including software development for support tools related to performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.

Requirements

• Strong technical experience in systems administration.
• Strong technical experience in distributed systems.
• Strong technical experience in network administration.
• Strong technical experience in database architecture and administration.
• Strong technical experience in application architecture.
• Strong technical experience in data architecture and design.
• Strong technical experience in performance tuning and benchmarking.
• Experience administering large-scale production environments, including hardware, operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows), networks (including firewalls and load balancers), and cloud-based resources (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Genuine desire to help people.
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-time.
• Desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills.
• Strong teamwork: willingness and ability to get help from team members when required, and the good judgment to know when to seek help.
