Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture new and existing relationships with mortgage broker partners.
- Balance a sales and service mindset to build long-term relationships and support company growth.
- Develop a growth strategy focused on mortgage broker satisfaction and building long-term relationships.
- Identify potential clients whose needs align with Alta West Capital’s product offerings.
- Arrange and conduct visits with new and existing mortgage broker referral partners throughout an assigned territory.
- Work cohesively with the Chief Sales Officer and the business development team to identify opportunities to grow the business.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the overall industry, competition, industry trends, and market conditions.
- Provide feedback to clients and ensure after-sales support.
- Attend and represent Alta West Capital at industry events; some out-of-city travel and overnight stays may be required.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions while representing the company.
- Prepare weekly sales itineraries and appointment schedules, including corresponding narrative reports for broker visits.
- Compile detailed expense and mileage reports monthly.
- Prepare quarterly and annual business plans.
- Attend weekly conference calls with the senior management team to report on volumes, trends, industry news, issues, and strategies.
- Communicate effectively with the underwriting team and other colleagues to identify process improvements that enhance the overall broker experience.
- Perform other related duties that support the goals and objectives of the organization.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. A combination of education and industry experience will also be considered.
- Three to five years of mortgage industry experience.
- Ability to continuously maintain Mortgage Agent licensing for the province(s) of the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and related KPIs in a pay-for-performance organization.
- Exceptional ethics and proven ability to resolve complex client issues to a positive resolution.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce experience is preferred. Willingness and ability to learn other role-related software is required.
- Good understanding of social media use in a professional context.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter comfortable operating independently with significant autonomy.
- Experience in relationship building, business development, and customer service.
- Effective presentation, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about real estate.
