About the Role
As the S&O Lead for Monetisation, you will manage and optimise merchant monetisation strategy across markets, including commission structures, merchant fees, and pricing architecture. You will be responsible for key monetisation levers and building scalable systems, tools, and processes within the Merchant Strategy & Operations (S&O) team.
Responsibilities
- Define monetisation strategy, collaborating with commercial leadership to set global frameworks for commission, fee structures, and take rate.
- Lead monetisation pilots, track performance, and scale successful models across markets.
- Act as the voice of merchant partners to drive sustainable merchant growth and selection while ensuring fair value capture.
- Drive standardisation and reduce complexity across markets and segments, considering diverse market landscapes.
- Operationalise strategy by building playbooks, guidelines, and negotiation frameworks for commercial and account management teams.
- Define the monetisation roadmap with Engineering and Product leads, leveraging technical solutions and automation.
- Serve as the global DRI for merchant monetisation, considering wider market trends and competitive pricing.
- Assemble, inspire, and drive cross-functional teams for monetisation strategy and governance.
- Own ambitious monetisation OKRs and establish governance structures for performance tracking and prioritization.
- Set and maintain high standards of operational rigour, ensuring scalability and regulatory compliance of monetisation frameworks.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience, preferably a mix of strategy consulting and business operations, in tech, marketplaces, or B2B monetisation.
- Deep understanding of marketplace dynamics, subscription pricing, or complex B2B financial models.
- Strong data-driven approach with proficiency in data and visualization tools.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in a high-growth, matrixed environment.
- Strong 'bias for action' and ability to drive structure and clarity in ambiguous environments.
