About the Role

The Sales Analyst provides support for marketing and customer support functions within the Global Markets and Treasury Department Americas Division-Marketing Group. This transaction-oriented role involves limited strategic decision-making and requires consultation with senior management on complex transactions.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all OSFI and internal regulations.
• Services SMBC's FX and Money Market customers in North America and Japan.
• Interacts with customers to understand their needs and concerns, communicating feedback to the desk and increasing client communications.
• Collaborates with other SMBC departments including Corporate Banking, Settlement and Operations, Compliance, and Legal.
• Transacts Money Market and FX transactions via phone, email, and e-platforms.
• Possesses experience with cash management and credit application management.
• Supports colleagues as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Financial Services, Banking, Trading and Lending preferred.
• Business fluency in English and Japanese is required.
• Functional knowledge and understanding of Canadian regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of Foreign Exchange, Money Markets (including REPO) and Fixed Income products.
• Knowledge of global economic releases, market movements, market flows and economic impact.
• Strong attention to detail and appreciation of the need for follow-up.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

• Japanese language proficiency (asset but not required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Familiarity with VBA, SQL, and other coding languages.
