About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining safe, quality housing for residents. Reporting to the Community Manager, you will handle complex maintenance tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and landscaping systems while mentoring junior staff in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency maintenance support
  • Perform skilled electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
  • Prepare vacant units for re-occupancy including painting, flooring, and fixture installation
  • Maintain landscaping, irrigation systems, and common areas
  • Coach and provide oversight to Maintenance Groundskeeper staff
  • Coordinate with contractors regarding bidding, scheduling, and work monitoring
  • Complete preventive maintenance and manage work order documentation and inventory
  • Assist with move-ins, move-outs, annual inspections, and procurement

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience in maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation systems
  • Extensive plumbing knowledge
  • Experience in electrical repairs to appliances, circuits, and fixtures
  • Rough and finish carpentry experience
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Strong coaching and training abilities
  • Basic computer skills for work order management
  • Valid California driver's license with reliable transportation and auto insurance
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various conditions
