Responsibilities

  • Perform installs, repairs, and maintenance to a variety of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Analyze, plan, and perform preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Plan shutdowns for maintenance and repair pumps.
  • Perform brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding, and fabrication.
  • Read complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Inspect, monitor, repair, maintain, and operate mechanical systems, motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and switches.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning, glycol, heating, hot water, and steam distribution equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and make modifications to HVAC systems.
  • Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC equipment.
  • Manage relationships with all major vendor accounts.
  • Properly maintain and safeguard district assets.
  • Perform work wearing required personnel protective equipment.
  • Maintain a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.

Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
  • Positions may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds, working at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces.
  • Must possess sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Must exercise sound judgment, solve problems, maintain attention to detail, effectively manage stress, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.
