About the Role

The Coordinator, Student Career Development is the primary contact for students seeking career development support. This role assists students in exploring career pathways, developing career readiness skills, and accessing experiential learning opportunities. The position collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance career outcomes and support student success.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in developing career plans aligned with their interests, goals, education, and aspirations.
  • Provide timely, professional, and high-level support and guidance to students, employers, alumni, and community partners.
  • Guide students on career readiness topics including networking, job searching strategies, interviewing, professional communication, and personal branding.
  • Assist students in identifying, preparing for, and applying to internships, volunteer opportunities, mentorship experiences, and other career-related experiences.
  • Provide individualized feedback on resumes, cover letters, applications, and other job application materials.
  • Support students exploring graduate and professional education pathways, assisting with school applications and preparing documentation.
  • Coordinate and deliver workshops, presentations, programming, and other career development events.
  • Collaborate with the Partnership team to maintain awareness of experiential learning opportunities and align them with student interests.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports using institutional systems (Salesforce).

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in career development, student services, advising, workforce development, recruitment, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of career development principles, career readiness programming, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Understanding of post-secondary student career pathways and graduate/professional education options.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with CRM systems for data tracking and reporting, Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and coaching skills with an understanding of student-centered support.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Flexibility to work outside of traditional office hours and travel as needed.
