About the Role

At CFC, technology is central to how we deliver specialist insurance products and services globally. Our engineering teams build platforms, tools, and capabilities enabling innovation, efficient operations, and exceptional experiences for brokers and clients. We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our collaborative, product-led Engineering team, contributing to the design, build, and support of applications and services underpinning CFC's technology platform. This role offers the chance to work across the full software development lifecycle, contribute to modern cloud-native solutions, and impact business products directly.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Angular and .NET/.NET Core technologies.
  • Build and enhance cloud-native services within Microsoft Azure.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from discovery and design through to deployment and support.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, and technical leads to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues to ensure platform stability, performance, and reliability.
  • Participate in agile delivery practices including refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to code reviews, pair programming, and engineering best practices across the team.
  • Support the development of scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions through strong testing and automation practices.
  • Contribute to solution design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools responsibly while maintaining ownership of quality, security, and technical outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience developing and supporting software solutions within an agile environment.
  • Strong knowledge of .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, and modern web application development.
  • Experience with Angular or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Experience working within cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and data-driven application development.
  • Understanding of software design principles, development best practices, and modern engineering approaches.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, automation, and CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Entity Framework and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
