About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful clinic. The schedule is 4 days per week, with shifts from 8 AM to 6:30 PM or 12 PM to 10 PM. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all our pet patients.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures
- Coordinating animal care
- Monitoring animal recovery
- Drawing blood and catheter placement minimizing patient discomfort
- Monitoring animals during surgery, keeping accurate records including drug sheet and anesthesia log
- Performing necessary diagnostics such as radiology and CT
- Monitoring post-surgical patients
- Taking vital signs and administering medications
- Filling medications, completing at-home dosage and discharge instructions for clients
- Maintaining and ordering inventory items
Requirements
- Licensed NY State Veterinary Technician
- Ability to work independently
- Minimum of 2 years of Veterinary Technician Experience
- Knowledge of animal care and handling
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
- Patience and a love for animals
- Team player, excited to collaborate with others
