About the Role
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Occupational Therapy intervention, working under the direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation or Clinical Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assess clients, establish and evaluate/revise treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records according to College of Occupational Therapists standards, documenting assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress, and discharge plans.
- Collaborate with other members of the health team as needed.
- Communicate pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provide education regarding treatment strategies.
- Observe and guide individuals assisting in the Occupational Therapy program.
- Maintain active standing in the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
- Adhere to Bayshore Healthcare / Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities and notify supervisors of risks or concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information.
- Complete other tasks as requested.
Requirements
- Experience with in-home assessments and treatments.
- New hires may be required to provide proof of vaccination against illnesses such as COVID-19, Hepatitis, Seasonal Flu etc., dependent upon Provincial government regulations and the position.
- Medical exemptions or any based upon Human Rights Code criteria will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Disclose any accommodation needs during the recruitment and selection process.
Education Level
- Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered and in good standing with provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
