About the Role
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to support Interac's Money Movement product team, contributing to product feature development, insight gathering, and key initiative driving within the payments ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Support the Product team in day-to-day activities with stakeholder groups to address product-related issues and concerns.
- Support early-stage strategy development for Interac e-Transfer in retail, commerce, and business spaces.
- Provide general support to the product roadmap, defining requirements, conducting product research, and assisting in squads to deliver corporate objectives.
- Conduct market research and analyze user feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements.
- Prepare documentation and conduct research as requested by the squad and/or product team.
- Work with large, unclean data sources to visualize/democratize data and insights, assess emerging themes, and showcase how solutions could fit within the broader ecosystem.
Requirements
- Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment and work independently.
- Experience with data analysis, research and tools (Google Analytics/Sheets, SQL, Tableau, MS Excel).
- Ability to translate user feedback into actionable product insights.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, MS Teams) with a preference for working knowledge of Excel.
- Basic knowledge or experience with sentiment analysis.
- Basic knowledge or experience with open-source software packages.
- Experience with SQL or Python for data analysis.
- Experience with product management tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.
- Interest in software development or technical background.
- Familiarity with product development processes and agile methodologies.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete background checks, which may include Canadian Criminal Credit Check, Canadian ID Cross-Check, Public Safety Verification, 5-year Employment Verification, Education Verification, Credit Check, and Social Media Check.
