About the Role

The SEO Team collaborates with editorial, audience development, analytics, and product groups to increase user acquisition from Search and Google Discover, ensuring maximum content discoverability on Google’s organic platforms. This role will significantly impact Condé Nast’s websites. We seek a data-driven, organized Content SEO Manager with an editorial SEO background to boost organic search and Discover traffic for GQ US and British GQ through content recommendations. This is a full-time, 1-year contract maternity cover position based in London, reporting to the Global Sr. Manager of SEO. It is not a technical SEO role.

Responsibilities

  • Execute organic search and answer engine campaigns and provide Google Discover tactical support, including evergreen keyword research, content gap recommendations, strategic optimization of existing content, competitor content analysis, and ad hoc non-technical SEO support.
  • Manage SEO content campaigns from start to finish, including writing meta content, creating target keyword lists, improving link architecture, and publishing SEO-friendly content.
  • Collaborate with cross-market editorial teams to create and execute SEO content strategies for GQ, including evergreen strategies for existing and new content.
  • Monitor content/news trends and provide SEO content recommendations for major events, supporting event and news/Google Discover strategy.
  • Document content strategy for major events and tentpole topics, conducting post-analysis.
  • Lead ad hoc SEO content projects to support GQ and the centralized SEO Team.
  • Proactively identify brand needs and provide solutions.
  • Educate stakeholders on editorial SEO, AI, and Discover through trainings, best practice documentation, and team presentations.
  • Leverage SEO strategies and tactics with direct traffic data to recommend new approaches for growing brand loyalty and increasing direct traffic.
  • Identify key stakeholders on GQ to drive change and mentor them in SEO.
  • Perform content audits.
  • Support traffic analysis & algorithm update recovery.
  • Stay updated on the latest SEO developments and news, advocating for underutilized SEO tactics.
  • Undertake any other reasonably required duties.

Requirements

  • Experience with Google Discover.
  • Proven track record; applicants must submit websites demonstrating SEO ability and be prepared to discuss.
