About the Role

The Bartender is responsible for delivering results that contribute to the mission and success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the social venues. This role involves setting up, servicing, and breaking down the bar area, and assisting with cocktail service to ensure high quality, consistency, and service for all guests. The bartender executes Sonesta A+ Service Standards to create a WOW experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers, determining beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
• Acting as a Server when needed.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.
• Adhering to all food & beverage safety and quality regulations.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accuracy, and balancing the cash register.
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area.
• Developing new cocktail recipes.
• Working with the bar and F&B teams to elevate Sonesta A+ service standards.
• Communicating across departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Completing other tasks as assigned by the Beverage Manager / Director of Operations.

Requirements

• TABC & Texas Food Handler certified
