About the Role
To produce a high quality work product on casualty claims, primarily CGL, Auto and Personal Liability, through prompt contact, thorough investigation, and effective reserving and negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Handle commercial and personal liability claims of low to moderate severity.
- Conduct and direct proactive investigations on all aspects of the claim.
- Secure and review all supporting documentation including expert reports and legal opinions.
- Assess loss documentation and its impact on the quantum of the claim.
- Verify and analyze coverage under various commercial, personal and some specialty liability policy forms.
- Establish and maintain accurate and timely reserves that reflect the investigation and assessment and which follow corporate guidelines.
- Manage the use, work product, and expenses of outside vendors, including independent adjusters, and other experts.
- Maintain an active diary on all files and adhere to file reporting requirements.
- Effectively and proactively communicate with various customer groups including: claims core, underwriting departments, brokers and insureds.
- Provide superior customer service, and build and maintain excellent business relationships with our brokers.
- Manage projects identified by management to assist in the department meeting Best Practices and Reserving Guidelines.
- Perform administrative support tasks at management direction and/or as department requires.
