About the Role

The Assistant Director is responsible for educating incoming students, parents, and counselors about Le Moyne College and the admissions process. This role manages all aspects of college admissions, including recruitment, counseling, academic advising, and evaluating prospective students.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as an active member of the professional admission team to design, develop, and implement successful marketing and recruitment strategies.
  • Manage assigned geographic territories, conducting extensive travel to build pipelines, lead recruitment events, and expand institutional reach.
  • Counsel, advise, and interview prospective first-year and transfer students through the enrollment lifecycle.
  • Evaluate prospective students’ application materials for admission recommendations.
  • Engage in targeted telemarketing and outreach activities to prospective students and applicants.
  • Lead the organization and execution of on-campus events.
  • Plan and host on-campus programs for specific student demographics.
  • Provide inclusive, culturally sensitive guidance to diverse students, parents, and counselors regarding the college admission process.
  • Build, expand, and maintain an internal recruitment database.
  • Plan travel and recruitment in the Metro NY area.
  • Visit high schools, junior colleges, and multicultural agencies to educate students and counselors and build relationships.
  • Conduct off-campus interviews during recruiting trips.
  • Engage with local alumni during travel to strengthen relationships and support local enrollment initiatives.
  • Represent Le Moyne College at off-campus recruiting programs, including college nights, fairs, and mini days.
  • Plan, schedule, and present at student information sessions in targeted geographic areas.
  • Plan, schedule, and present at off-campus guidance counselor breakfasts, dinners, and association meetings.
  • Participate in panel presentations at secondary schools.
  • Coordinate or assist with other admission-related events and programs.
  • Demonstrate and role-model Le Moyne’s mission-based competencies in all interactions.
  • Strengthen digital literacy skills through education and application of digital technologies.
  • Support cura personalis by treating all individuals with dignity, professionalism, and kindness.
  • Promote cura apostolica by aligning professional goals with college’s strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent work attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Comply with all of Le Moyne’s established policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
  • Complete all required federal, state, institution, and department trainings.
  • Engage in a planned program of professional development.
  • Perform a variety of related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • 3 years of experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • High level of initiative and imagination.
