About the Role
The Admission Counselor is responsible for educating prospective students, parents, and counselors about Le Moyne College and the admissions process. This role manages recruitment, counseling, academic advising, and evaluation of applicants, with a primary recruitment territory in the Metro NY area.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and execution of marketing and recruitment strategies to drive enrollment growth.
- Manage assigned geographic territories, conducting extensive travel for recruitment events and to build pipelines.
- Counsel, advise, and interview prospective students to guide them through the enrollment lifecycle.
- Evaluate prospective students’ application materials for admission decisions.
- Engage in targeted telemarketing and outreach activities to prospective students and applicants.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of campus open house recruitment events.
- Plan and host on-campus programs for specific student demographics.
- Deliver inclusive, culturally sensitive guidance to diverse students, parents, and counselors.
- Visit high schools, junior colleges, and multicultural agencies to educate students and counselors about Le Moyne College.
- Conduct off-campus interviews during recruiting trips.
- Engage with local alumni during travel to strengthen relationships and support enrollment initiatives.
- Represent Le Moyne College at organized off-campus recruiting programs.
- Plan, schedule, and present at Student Information Sessions in targeted geographic areas.
- Plan, schedule, and present at off-campus guidance counselor breakfasts, dinners, and association meetings.
- Participate in panel presentations at secondary schools.
- Coordinate or assist with other admission-related events and programs.
- Demonstrate and role-model Le Moyne’s mission-based competencies in all interactions.
- Strengthen digital literacy skills and apply digital technologies effectively.
- Treat all individuals with dignity, professionalism, and kindness.
- Align professional goals with the college’s strategic goals.
- Demonstrate excellent work attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Attend and actively participate in required meetings and training sessions.
- Comply with all Le Moyne’s established policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Complete all required federal, state, institution, and department trainings.
- Engage in a planned program of professional development to maintain skills and knowledge.
- Perform a variety of related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and time management.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- High level of initiative and imagination.
Skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
