About the Role
Join an award-winning PR team working with leading children’s brands, authors, and illustrators. This role involves leading and delivering publicity campaigns, planning and executing PR strategies, driving demand, and creating standout events, with a focus on innovation and reader engagement.
Responsibilities
- Planning and implementing PR campaigns with direction from senior staff.
- Developing publicity plans and implementing campaigns, potentially with senior colleague support.
- Promoting books and authors through social media, digital channels, print, and broadcast to secure coverage and generate sales.
- Managing all aspects of author events, including creation, schedule management, and social media content.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key industry influencers.
- Responding to and fulfilling routine media requests for information, author features, and review copies.
- Building relationships with authors and providing high-level author care.
- Creating and writing press materials and contributing to written acquisition pitches.
- Staying updated on the UK media spectrum regarding PRH Children’s titles and publishing news.
- Liaising with internal departments (marketing, sales, editorial) for campaign planning, implementation, and review.
- Undertaking general administrative tasks, including database maintenance, award submissions, and financial tasks like raising purchase orders.
Requirements
- Proven PR experience.
- Experience running and managing publicity campaigns.
- Relevant experience and knowledge of reaching children’s consumers and the children’s media landscape.
- Passion to work with children’s brands is essential.
- Publicity campaign experience and the ability to secure strategic media, digital, and event opportunities.
- Avid interest in and knowledge of the UK media landscape.
- Interest in digital platforms and following social influencers.
- Creative individual who isn’t afraid to think outside of the box.
- Strong personal organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work as a team player but also autonomously using initiative.
