About the Role

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Team Leader to join our Austin team. We offer opportunities for professional development with additional incentives as you advance your skills and gain experience. In this role, you will successfully ensure that our technicians are properly trained and organized through mentorship within the Field Services department.

Responsibilities

Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites.
Maintain and organize supplies inventory.
Calibrate and maintain field equipment, keeping accurate records.
Promote safety and safety culture.
Ensure proper PPE is used on project sites.
Assist with company-required safety training.
Communicate daily with technicians, project managers, and general contractors.
Collaborate with Team Leaders to support scheduling operations and recruiting.
Assist with the management of field staff.
Mentor and train junior field staff.
Provide support to project managers and department managers as needed.
Attend project meetings as requested.
May participate in business development, marketing, and client development.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of related experience.
Must possess and maintain basic certifications.
Advanced certifications may be required based on the work performed.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
Good understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
Proficient at data interpretation and evaluation of CMT techniques and results.
US Military E-5 rank qualifies if education and certification requirements are met.
