About the Role
The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools. Responsibilities
- Complete employment and education history as per Success Factors Application process.
- Upload a copy of course transcripts from all universities attended.
- Upload two written references from individuals who have observed the quality of your teaching or pre-service teaching.
- Upload a Direct Deposit Form and void cheque.
- Forward the Child Abuse Register "Confirmation Email" to Leanne Marcil.
- Mail or drop off the original Criminal Records Check, including the section for persons working with "children" and "vulnerable" persons.
- Read/view and adhere to all policies as per the Statement of Understanding.
- Upload or drop off the signed Statement of Understanding form.
- Read the Employee Confidentiality Agreement document, sign where indicated, and attach with your application.
- Upload or drop off the signed Employee Confidentiality Agreement.
- Undergo an OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) if a new French substitute.
- Provide OPI assessment results or DELF certificate (minimum B2) if applicable.
Requirements
- Only new substitutes to our Regional Centre need apply.
- Substitutes who taught with us in the previous school year are not required to reapply.
- Must have a valid Nova Scotia Teacher's Certificate.
- All supporting documents must be uploaded, mailed or dropped off.
- Original Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector check must be dropped off or mailed.
- Child Abuse Registry confirmation email must be forwarded.
- Work Permit or Residency Card (if applicable) must be uploaded.
