About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract for a Senior Audit Manager within the RBC Internal Audit UK team. The role focuses on the Capital Markets platform, including global markets sales and trading, banking and finance, and related support functions. You will assess risk management, internal control, and corporate governance processes, gaining a deep understanding of a global financial services organization and utilizing data analytics for business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Work in teams to assess the RBC control environment and drive real change through insightful audit outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of RBC Capital Markets businesses and related support activities.
  • Lead all stages of audit work, including review of associated documentation.
  • Understand business objectives and the operating environment.
  • Assess business processes and create/execute a testing strategy for key controls.
  • Assess the risk and impact of identified issues and communicate results to Internal Audit and senior management.
  • Assist in audit report preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure business commitments on improvements are adhered to.
  • Establish stakeholder relationships and develop continuous risk and assurance approaches.
  • Contribute to team discussions, sharing experiences and ideas to improve audit practices.
  • Engage with global colleagues to share best practices and align coverage.
  • Continuously learn and develop financial services knowledge and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Extensive work experience in auditing controls, preferably within internal audit or related control/testing functions covering financial services.
  • Strong understanding of Capital Markets business activities, processes, and regulations.
  • Extensive experience in financial services within capital markets, banking, and finance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Project management experience, including oversight and leadership of junior staff.
  • Ability to quickly understand evolving business risks and formulate assessment strategies using traditional audit techniques and data analysis.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision on tasks and audit projects.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects with varying and changing demands.
