About the Role

The Investigations Security Specialist will collaborate with the Investigations and Physical Security (PS) teams to prevent and respond to security matters impacting Citizens colleagues, customers, assets, and reputation. This role supports the Investigations function by providing an independent and objective investigations service across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents such as robberies, customer threats, irate customers, workplace violence, burglaries, and vandalism.
  • Provide executive protection and event security, including conducting security advance work and intelligence gathering.
  • Ensure security-related incidents and risk issues are properly escalated to management.
  • Draft quality investigations reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct investigations in all areas of the bank in a timely, professional, and accurate manner.
  • Prioritize workload for timely and cost-effective investigations, applying banking law appropriately.
  • Conduct tracing, freezing, and recovery of funds.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business areas, industry peers, and law enforcement.
  • Promote effective prevention and incident management practices.
  • Provide metrics, executive reports, and briefings.
  • Ensure PS and Corporate Security risks are identified, evaluated, recorded, and mitigated.
  • Support the delivery of security projects and programs within budget.
  • Drive PS initiatives and strategies, promoting an open culture and information sharing.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of PS policy, standards, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Perform risk assessments to determine security threats and ensure adequate security measures.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of facility security systems, including intrusion, access control, and video monitoring platforms.
  • 5 or more years of relative experience in investigations and law enforcement function preferred.
  • Experience working in physical security services or similar function, particularly on alarm and camera systems, incident response, and threat assessments preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of executive protection principles and operations.
  • Awareness of legal, statutory, and regulatory environments, especially as they relate to investigations within banking institutions.
  • Experience interviewing internal and external parties.
  • Working knowledge of investigative or research capabilities, search engines, open source intelligence, and criminal history checks.
  • Experience working on standards and policies desired.
  • Experience and understanding of working in a financial services environment preferred.
  • Experience in completing comprehensive security reviews / risk analysis reports.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate advanced written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Travel required throughout the footprint.
  • Successfully passing a background check.
