About the Role

Hitachi Rail is developing software to transform the future of rail, creating innovative digital solutions for monitoring critical railway infrastructure, supporting advanced inspection technologies, and enabling data-driven decision making. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects using modern technologies and contribute to products that solve real-world engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications, web solutions and databases.
• Build scalable, high-quality front-end and back-end solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across software, engineering and product teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, validation and continuous improvement activities.
• Support the delivery of robust, maintainable and customer-focused software products.
• Explore new technologies and approaches that improve products and ways of working.

Requirements

• Experience in modern software development.
• Strong foundations in object-oriented programming, web development and database technologies.
• Experience with C#, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and cloud platforms such as Azure is valuable.
• Enjoys tackling challenging technical problems.
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
• Takes pride in delivering high-quality software.
• Is curious, adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.
• Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
