About the Role
This part-time role within the Mater Maternity Team provides support to Nursing and Midwifery staff in delivering care to mothers and newborns in the Whelan Postnatal Ward and Well Baby Nursery. It includes supporting new parents with mother crafting and early parenting skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to Nursing and Midwifery staff in the delivery of care to mothers and newborns.
- Support new parents with mother crafting and early parenting skills.
- Assist with care of the newborn, including daily cares and observation.
- Support parents in their transition to parenthood.
Requirements
- Evidence of completion of Diploma of Enrolled Nursing.
- Willingness to assist with care of the newborn, including daily cares, observation and supporting parents in their transition to parenthood.
- Ability and flexibility to work afternoon shifts and night duty shifts.
- Previous experience in an acute healthcare or maternity setting is desirable but not essential.
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have an Australia visa that grants the necessary work rights.
