About the Role

DR. VIVIEN KARL is a fast-growing Berlin startup redefining female intimate care with natural, science-based, and aesthetic products. We champion female empowerment and seek to strengthen our Finance team. Your work will ensure reliable financial processes and support informed business decisions based on clean data.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparatory accounts payable and receivable accounting according to SKR04 in DATEV Unternehmen online, including handling booking keys and accounting systematics, in close collaboration with our tax advisor.
• Oversee expense management via Spendesk and ensure timely payment of deadlines.
• Participate in monthly and annual financial statements and prepare accounting foundations for monthly reporting.
• Analyze data exports from Shopify and Amazon, understand their structure, and how they integrate into accounting and reporting via accounting interfaces and mapping systems (e.g., Pathway).
• Coordinate with the team on operational accounting matters, including promotions, new products, marketplaces, warehouse locations, inventory, stock-outs, and advance payments.
• Prepare travel expense reports and support other administrative finance tasks.
• Respond reliably to inquiries and feedback, independently retrieve missing or incorrect information, and critically question existing processes for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Completed university degree or vocational training in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification, ideally with initial professional experience in accounting.
• Sound knowledge of proper invoicing and proficient handling of booking keys and accounting systematics, particularly according to SKR04.
• Practical experience with DATEV Unternehmen online; knowledge of Spendesk and accounting interfaces is a plus.
• Interest in e-commerce technology and interfaces; desire to understand data generation, export, and processing from Shopify and Amazon.
• Basic understanding of reporting and the role of accounting within it.
• Affinity for numbers, structured, meticulous, and reliable work style, combined with initiative and a desire to take on responsibility.
• Openness to new ideas and changes, and willingness to critically question processes.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Very good command of German, both written and spoken.
