About the Role
The Operational Resilience Engineer supports Cboe Technology and Operations by owning and evolving systems, automations, and processes that underpin operational risk control. This role focuses on independent delivery of end-to-end engineering solutions to enhance Cboe's operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an inventory of attributes essential to trading services, including business services, impact tolerances, supporting functions, criticality, processes, assets, controls, RTOs, and RPOs.
- Support risk identification, operational resilience planning, and testing by assisting functions with business impact assessments, technology and operational risk identification, BCP documentation, vulnerability identification, and resilience testing program design and execution.
- Document test results and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Support governance, monitoring, and reporting of operational resilience by preparing regulatory self-assessments, reports for senior management and board committees, maintaining management information, and supporting analysis of test results and remedial actions.
- Build and engineer resilience infrastructure, including end-to-end automations for incident lifecycle management, integration of operational systems, development of AI-assisted workflows, automation of change management processes, creation of policy validation pipelines, and maintenance of documentation.
- Deliver self-service tooling for Technology and Operations staff.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics through instrumentation and observability.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in technology risk management, business continuity, or operational resilience.
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated computer science, computer networking, and/or computer infrastructure related experience.
- Aptitude to learn business services and systems, backed by a keen interest in technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
- Ability to effectively lead meetings in a technical setting among multiple stakeholders with varied backgrounds and viewpoints.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
