About the Role
Join Transgrid as a Civil and Plant Operator, applying your technical skills to maintain, repair, and construct substation and transmission line assets, including those supporting renewable energy. You will work across critical infrastructure projects and incident response, contributing to a team that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and high-quality delivery.
Responsibilities
- Operate civil and plant equipment across transmission assets.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and safety documentation are prepared for planned work.
- Support estimating, planning, and site readiness.
- Communicate clearly with field coordinators and stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate records and report on all field activities.
- Deliver high-quality work safely, on time, and within budget.
- Participate in a standby roster for after-hours incident response.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations and/or Formwork/Falsework (or equivalent experience).
- Licences/competencies in CV (Vehicle Loading Crane), WP (Boom-type EWP), Dogging/Basic Rigging, Work Safely at Heights, and Heavy Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Ability to operate earthmoving equipment.
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
- Complete standard pre-employment assessments including reference checks, a medical check, national police check, and a driving licence and traffic offence check.
