About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial team within Vocalink Limited’s Product Management function. Vocalink plays a critical role at the heart of the UK economy, enabling a significant portion of the nation's financial transactions. As a Commercial Manager, you will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring Vocalink meets its contractual obligations, supporting the business in responding to customer requests, and acting as a cross-functional center of excellence for all commercial matters. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Product, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Technology to ensure Vocalink continues to deliver market-leading services and responds effectively to evolving requirements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate commercial opportunities, review cost estimates, and prepare or assess business cases to support strategic decision-making.
- Influence and support Vocalink’s change management processes to ensure robust commercial alignment and governance.
- Play a central role in managing Vocalink’s major scheme contracts, ensuring obligations are clearly understood and adhered to.
- Support the Product Management function by interpreting contractual requirements and ensuring alignment with operational delivery.
- Provide additional capacity (“surge support”) during peak periods or when heightened commercial activity is required.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to interpret regulatory changes and assess their impact on Vocalink’s services, commercial frameworks, and customer charges.
- Translate evolving regulation into clear, practical commercial and operational implications for the business.
- Oversee Vocalink’s customer billing team, responsible for accurate billing and effective debt collection processes.
- Manage the price change process end-to-end, ensuring billing accurately reflects agreed commercial positions and customer commitments.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing large and complex commercial agreements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business areas.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous or evolving environments, helping to shape processes, controls, and ways of working.
- Ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable guidance for the business.
- Experience working within a regulated environment, with the capability to interpret new regulation and understand its commercial impact.
- Advanced Excel modelling skills.
- Finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed.
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
