About the Role
As a Package Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical definition, coordination, and execution of process equipment packages within the Equipment & Packages (E&P) team. You will act as the technical focal point between Technology, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, clients, and suppliers, ensuring solutions are technically compliant, commercially competitive, and delivered on time. This role supports NOV's Process Systems portfolio, covering technologies for oil, water, gas, and sand processing applications, contributing to projects that enhance efficiency and reliability across the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical definition of equipment packages during the tender phase.
- Collaborate with the Technology team to develop process solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Coordinate technical communication with customers throughout tendering and project execution.
- Evaluate and select supplier equipment packages while supporting procurement activities.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications and NOV standards.
- Support Tender Managers in delivering competitive proposals within agreed deadlines.
- Coordinate package execution activities with Project Managers from project kick-off through delivery.
- Monitor engineering schedules and proactively address technical risks or delays.
- Support project management activities to ensure successful project execution.
- Promote continuous improvement, quality, and safety throughout all engineering activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in Process Engineering, Package Engineering, Tendering, or Project Engineering within the Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
- Experience supporting engineering projects from tender through execution.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of offshore Oil & Gas production technologies.
- Knowledge of process engineering deliverables and project execution.
- Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) projects.
- Strong commercial awareness when reviewing tender documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with engineering documentation and project management systems.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.
- 5–7 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Previous experience in a Package Engineer or similar project engineering role.
- Experience developing non-standard technical solutions.
- Ability to analyse complex technical information and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Ability to make sound engineering decisions under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong customer focus and commercial awareness.
