About the Role
This role is for a data-passionate individual, ideal for recent graduates or those starting their careers, with an interest in secondary education. The specialist will manipulate and analyze large datasets to identify trends across qualification types, contributing to a team that sets and maintains standards for General Qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Balance multiple sources and strength of evidence to inform judgements that will impact learners’ progression opportunities, using statistical data.
- Apply statistical methods to analyze assessment performance data.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of assessment solutions by identifying appropriate statistical methods/techniques and interrogation of data.
- Lead on the creation and review of awarding policies, quality assurance, strategies, guidance and training.
- Ensure adherence to and provide evidence of regulatory compliance.
- Scope, carry out and report outcomes from research.
- Critically review awards, providing an overview and rationale of awarding decisions.
- Provide an overview of evidence that rationalizes trends in and confidence in results.
- Report on outcomes of research – building the evidence bank to explain results.
- Develop awarding procedures for suites of qualifications.
- Develop and deliver awarding training for internal and external staff.
- Support and provide technical guidance to development and product teams in relation to standards, grading models and awarding.
Requirements
- Degree or Equivalent in a numerate discipline is essential.
- Masters in numerate discipline desirable.
- Education or assessment experience is desirable, not essential.
