About the Role
This role champions the development and growth of safety advisory and training services within the Railway Operations team at First Rail Consultancy, aiming to expand market presence and drive revenue growth. It involves providing strategic insight into market opportunities, client needs, and service development to support the Consultancy's commercial success.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic insight into market opportunities, client needs, and service development.
- Develop, deliver, and assure the quality of Training Needs Analyses (TNA) for clients.
- Identify capability gaps and design tailored solutions to support operational excellence, safety performance, and organisational objectives.
- Lead the design, development, and oversight of learning and development solutions, including health, safety, environmental, vocational, and operational training.
- Ensure learning products align with industry best practice, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities to expand service offerings.
- Support business development activities and generate new consultancy opportunities.
- Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring and upskilling colleagues.
- Foster knowledge sharing and innovation to maintain the Consultancy's forefront position in rail safety and training.
- Champion the growth and development of safety training and competency services.
- Lead the delivery of Training Needs Analyses and competency assessments.
- Design and oversee health, safety, environmental, vocational, and operational training programmes.
- Develop strategic client relationships and identify revenue-generating opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to support business growth and service innovation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant rail industry, health and safety, and training standards.
- Support, mentor, and develop colleagues to strengthen the Consultancy's overall capability and market offering.
Requirements
- Experienced and qualified organisational psychologist and development specialist.
- Experience of delivery in a rail operating environment.
- Established profile within the rail industry.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
- Level 6 Certificate or higher in Applied Health and Safety.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Demonstrated implementation of health and safety procedures in safety-critical environments.
- Experience in organisational needs analysis.
- Experience in programme development and delivery.
- Experience in strategy development.
- Experience in culture development.
- Experience in monitoring and trend analysis and development planning.
- Experience in post-incident intervention.
