About the Role

Anduril is seeking a Regional Physical Security Lead for its Australian sites. This hands-on role involves managing day-to-day physical security operations, leading the guard force, and ensuring site security standards are met. The position requires independent judgment and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the in-house and contracted guard force across Anduril's Australian sites, managing rosters, post orders, coverage, training, performance, and conduct.
• Manage the contracted guarding provider against service-level agreements and KPIs.
• Oversee day-to-day physical security operations across all Australian sites, including access control, patrols, alarm response, and policy enforcement.
• Ensure appropriate site staffing, including after-hours and multi-site coverage, and manage callouts and roster gaps.
• Enforce access procedures for people, vehicles, and materials entering and leaving sites.
• Manage physical site access and badging, including visitor and contractor passes, and oversee parking and pedestrian-flow protocols.
• Act as first responder and escalation point for security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, conducting preliminary investigations and documenting findings.
• Lead after-action reviews for security events and policy violations, refining response protocols.
• Ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and monitoring of physical security technologies such as access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
• Coordinate alarm monitoring and response, manage vendor faults and servicing, and support the evaluation and rollout of new security systems.
• Conduct regular physical security assessments across Australian sites to identify risks and implement practical mitigations.
• Develop, maintain, and drill site security procedures, post orders, and emergency/evacuation plans aligned with government requirements.
• Contribute to crisis-management and business-continuity planning for covered sites.
• Support security at classified facilities by enforcing access, escort, and zone controls and the physical handling of classified holdings.
• Partner with the Security Officer on audit preparation, providing physical security evidence, records, and self-inspections.
• Facilitate Defence assessments such as DISP audits by providing operational data and access.
• Coordinate daily with site and operations leadership, Facilities, People, and WHS to integrate security into operational workflows.
• Maintain working relationships with building management, vendors, police, and emergency services.
• Deliver toolbox training and security-awareness briefings to guards and site staff.
• Contribute to security risk assessments for sites, events, and visitor/VIP movements.
• Assist in managing operational security resources, including equipment, supplies, and personnel.
• Contribute to the Australian security operations budget by providing input for planning, ensuring sensible resource use, and reporting operational spend.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in physical or protective security operations, including guarding and security supervision, preferably in a Defence, government, critical-infrastructure, or highly regulated environment.
• A current security licence valid in New South Wales (guarding / Class 1), or eligibility to obtain one, with the ability to hold equivalent licences in other Australian states and territories.
• CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations (or equivalent) underpinning the security licence.
• CPP40719 Certificate IV in Security Management, or demonstrated equivalent supervisory experience with a commitment to complete it.
• A track record of leading or supervising a guard force or security team, including rostering, post orders, performance management, and on-the-ground leadership.
• Sound, independent judgment in routine and unpredictable situations; ability to run day-to-day operations with review at key milestones.
• Credibility with senior internal stakeholders and external counterparts (Defence, police, emergency services, vendors).
• Clear written and verbal incident reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of Australian protective security requirements (PSPF, DSPF) and physical security controls for classified environments.
• Hands-on experience operating and monitoring security technologies such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
• Australian citizenship (mandatory).
• Willingness to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.
• Current first-aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• A full, clean Australian driver's licence for regular travel between sites.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends, and on-call support for critical incidents.
