About the Role

Berlin Global Village is seeking a Program Officer (30h/week) to manage public events and internal networking opportunities for NGOs. This role involves close collaboration with management and interfaces with communications and digitalization teams. The position offers significant creative freedom within an innovative project with long-term potential.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, prepare, and produce events, conferences, discussion forums, workshops, and guided tours, including idea development, collaboration with internal organizations and partners, and follow-up.
• Manage funding projects, including application, controlling, execution, budget responsibility, and reporting.
• Organize the annual public summer festival, 'GLOBALE'.
• Expand 'Sankofa-Stages', a series of cultural events (concerts, film nights, exhibitions).
• Organize the annual event for the decolonial memorial 'EarthNest'.
• Contribute to public relations activities (social media, newsletter, marketing strategy).
• Plan and execute networking events for development policy and migrant-diasporic NGOs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in program management and administration of public funds.
• In-depth knowledge of development policy and decolonial discourses.
• Alignment with the diversity-oriented profile of Berlin Global Village.
• Experience in designing participatory processes with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent German language skills (written and spoken).
• Good English language skills.
• Diversity-oriented competence, particularly anti-racism.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.

• Enjoyment of agile, process-oriented work.
• Strong conceptual thinking abilities.
