About the Role

The Manager Risk, Compliance and Controls supports the management of risks within appetite, ensures controls are designed and operating effectively, and that the business complies with relevant obligations. This role focuses on working with the Platforms business to manage risks, ensure effective controls, and understand compliance obligations to support business growth and protect the company's license and reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document efficient and effective controls that support compliance with obligations.
  • Support the development and execution of a control testing plan to provide assurance on the control environment.
  • Participate in the delivery of change initiatives with required risk and compliance activities.
  • Participate in risk deep dives across the business to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Undertake outsourcing risk assessments to support sourcing activities.
  • Analyze and provide risk, compliance, and control information for reporting and insights.
  • Support the implementation and embedding of initiatives for sustainable risk management practices.
  • Deliver risk, compliance, and controls related training across the business.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks.
  • Document risk and control information in the risk system with high quality.
  • Actively monitor the risk profile, Risk Appetite Statement metrics, and Key Risk Indicators for assigned businesses.
  • Embed policy requirements across the business.
  • Respond to regulatory changes.
  • Support the Risk Management Declaration (RMD) process.
  • Support business awareness and understanding of compliance plans.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide risk and compliance SME advice.
  • Support the maintenance of Business Continuity requirements.
  • Support the overall maintenance of compliance plans.
  • Champion the GRC system and support business self-service through dashboards.
  • Ensure quality documentation of all risk and controls information in the GRC system.
  • Understand the business's risk appetite position and support decision-making within appetite.

Requirements

  • Previous 3+ years of experience in a relevant professional role.
  • Experience working across a fast-paced, customer/client service-oriented team environment and/or financial service industry.
  • Experience driving a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Experience in providing emerging technical expertise within own area/team.
  • Broad understanding and experience of wealth management and financial planning processes.
  • Understanding of the regulatory and compliance regime for financial services.
  • Ability to adapt from BAU to the ambiguous with ease.
  • Commitment, grit, and a growth mindset.
  • Willingness to jump in and deliver across a variety of areas.
  • Ability to hold your own.
