About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead Zip's Compliance Advisory function across Australia and New Zealand, providing strategic guidance on regulatory obligations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing practical, risk-based compliance advice.
- Build trusted relationships with regulators and represent Zip with professionalism, transparency, and integrity.
- Own and continuously enhance Zip's regulatory compliance framework.
- Lead the ongoing monitoring of compliance obligations, regulatory change management, and breach reporting.
- Provide high-quality reporting to the Board, Executive, and Committees.
- Partner with teams across the business to design practical controls that strengthen compliance.
- Lead the development and implementation of compliance frameworks, policies, and local procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes through technology, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Compliance professionals.
- Foster an inclusive team culture where diverse perspectives are valued.
- Build compliance capability across Zip by delivering engaging education, awareness programs, and practical guidance.
Requirements
- 10+ years' experience leading Compliance functions within financial services, consumer finance, payments, or fintech.
- Deep knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory frameworks, including consumer credit, financial services licensing, privacy, and broader regulatory obligations.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and enhancing enterprise compliance frameworks and governance programs.
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of building, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams.
- Experience authoring and presenting Board and Committee papers.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory matters clearly and confidently.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence, challenge constructively, and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Commercial judgment and a pragmatic approach to balancing regulatory requirements with business outcomes.
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
- An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
