About the Role

This position leads the ongoing production of high-quality, safe food products that comply with product design and meet or exceed customer and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing process and quality assurance with the ability to identify new suppliers and materials that comply with specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, capabilities, product specifications, processes, and performance for ingredient and packaging materials.
  • Develop strategies, track implementation, and evaluate or certify the effectiveness of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems for authorized supplier facilities.
  • Conduct continual research and identification of new technologies and processes to improve quality, and apply concepts to reduce process variation, improve quality, and optimize cost.
  • Provide Quality Leadership, in collaboration with Supplier Corporate Leadership, to optimize delivered quality performance and capabilities for incoming package materials.
  • Develop appropriate business-related reports to drive quality improvement across the supply chain, including historical quality metrics and data to develop and track product quality and cost of quality failure.
  • Act as a quality expert and consultant by responding to targeted questions from the field or other departments/business units, serving as a resource for general information and a consultant for other technical personnel.
  • Ensure continuity of supply and authorization of new supply points through on-site audits of supplier facilities, trade sample laboratories, Divisions, Bottlers, or fountain customers.
  • Lead strategic problem-solving and track or follow up on corrective action plans to ensure timely completion.
  • Drive sustainable improvements to prevent recurring quality issues or disruptions at filling operations.
  • Host, attend, or present at professional or client meetings to collect or share information relevant to Company business, including reporting results and findings from assigned special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical area such as R&D product development, laboratory management, quality systems, and/or engineering.
  • Knowledge of statistics, including fundamental analyses and proven analytical skills resulting in decision-making that protects the customer, consumer, and the brand.
  • Strong working knowledge with Quality Systems and their implementation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Assurance Principles and Food Safety.
  • Previous experience with project management, continuous improvement, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and process controls for beverage ingredients and packaging.
  • Ability to protect confidential information provided by outside sources (bottlers and other business partners) and ensure it is not disseminated inappropriately.
  • Ability to determine personal actions needed to satisfy a customer/client requirement.
  • Ability to establish relationships and work effectively with external individuals/parties (e.g., customers, bottlers, consumers, communities, government agencies, vendors, suppliers) to meet financial goals.
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with peers and others to exchange feedback, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs, and achieve business results.
  • Ability to build an understanding of customer/client/partner needs and expectations within your area of accountability.
