About the Role

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers across the team, and work closely with clients to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structural design solutions for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Play a hands-on technical role across the full project lifecycle, from bids and concept design through to detailed design, construction support and technical assurance.
  • Help deliver projects successfully by balancing technical quality, programme and budget, while applying sound engineering judgement.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and project teams, providing technical advice and contributing to successful project outcomes.
  • Support business development through proposal preparation, technical input and identifying opportunities to grow AECOM's Water business.
  • Mentor and support developing engineers, fostering technical excellence while continuing to build your own expertise and industry profile.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience in structural engineering, ideally within the water industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SpaceGass and/or Strand7.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered (CPEng) registration is highly regarded.
