About the Role
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers across the team, and work closely with clients to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Deliver structural design solutions for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Play a hands-on technical role across the full project lifecycle, from bids and concept design through to detailed design, construction support and technical assurance.
- Help deliver projects successfully by balancing technical quality, programme and budget, while applying sound engineering judgement.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and project teams, providing technical advice and contributing to successful project outcomes.
- Support business development through proposal preparation, technical input and identifying opportunities to grow AECOM's Water business.
- Mentor and support developing engineers, fostering technical excellence while continuing to build your own expertise and industry profile.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Proven experience in structural engineering, ideally within the water industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as SpaceGass and/or Strand7.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Chartered (CPEng) registration is highly regarded.
