About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the Japan Oncology Business Unit (JOBU) Medical Affairs Department coordinates internally and externally to optimize product value from new drug development (unapproved drugs) to post-marketing. We are looking for individuals with pioneering and challenging spirits, a strong passion for contributing to the advancement of medicine, and a willingness to take on challenges even without prior experience in clinical development or non-clinical research.

Responsibilities

Serve as an MSL responsible for the oncology (cancer) field.
Become a member of the Medical Team, including Medical Director (MD), Evidence Generation Team, Outcomes Research Team, and MSLs, as well as Cross-Functional Teams (CFT), and execute team activities in line with decided policies and plans.
Implement activities based on brand strategy and engagement plans.
Collect medical insights from Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and share information with internal stakeholders to reflect them in the medical plan.
Collaborate with various teams to conduct outcomes research (HEOR) and joint research activities, contributing to data generation activities.
Contribute to the optimization of evidence generation activities, such as Investigator-Initiated Research (IIR) programs in Japan.
Plan and execute medical activities (advisory boards, expert meetings, medical education, medical conferences (MC), Medical Affairs Information Booth (MIB), training activities, etc.) in line with brand strategy, under the direction of the MSL Team Leader and Medical Lead (ML).

Requirements

Must have business-level Japanese proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading.
Must have 3 or more years of experience in one of the following fields within the oncology (cancer) domain: Medical Affairs (MSL experience), Clinical Development, or Non-clinical Research.
Demonstrated experience in planning, operating, executing, or supporting clinical trials.
Experience working in cross-functional teams is desirable.
Understanding of laws and regulatory guidelines for clinical research and MSLs in pharmaceutical companies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of building trust with colleagues, subordinates, and superiors across departments.
Ability to continuously challenge with initiative.
Excellent proposal skills to drive the organization forward.
Specific achievements supporting the above skills are required.
