About the Role
The Asset Services division delivers market-leading custody, asset servicing, investment operations, investor and regulatory reporting, and related administration solutions. As the Associate Director, Tax Lead, you will provide strategic tax leadership and technical oversight, ensuring compliance with evolving tax obligations while supporting product development, operational excellence, and client outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Tax SME for Asset Services, providing expert guidance across products, operations, client solutions and regulatory obligations.
- Monitor and interpret Australian and international tax developments, assessing impacts on clients, products, operating models and service delivery.
- Lead the implementation of tax and regulatory change, translating legislative requirements into practical business, operational and technology solutions.
- Drive robust tax governance, risk and control frameworks, ensuring compliance, regulatory readiness and strong client outcomes.
- Develop and enhance the Asset Services tax product framework, ensuring solutions remain compliant, competitive and aligned to market needs.
- Oversee investor tax reporting obligations, including AMIT, AMMA and related tax disclosure requirements, while driving continuous improvement across tax processes and controls.
- Play a major part in the design, implementation and maintenance of the tax operating model for Asset Services.
- Drive the implementation of regulatory and legislative change, translating complex requirements into practical business and system outcomes.
- Lead tax process improvement, automation and transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, control and client service delivery.
- Support strategic technology and business transformation programs impacting tax operations, reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex tax-related issues affecting clients, products and operational processes.
- Support client-facing teams on tax matters, including technical consultations, due diligence activities and issue resolution.
- Provide technical tax input for client presentations, tender responses, requests for proposal (RFPs) and new business opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, industry bodies and external advisers.
- Communicate tax developments and associated business impacts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and practical manner.

- 10+ years of experience within the Operations of a Fund Administrator
- 7+ years in a tax operations role, with a proven history of success
- Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team effectively.
- Strong understanding of the tax impact on asset classes, including domestic and international equity and fixed income security settlements.
- A history of resolving complex tax issues, driving process improvements, and performing under pressure with enthusiasm and resilience.
- Strong knowledge of HiPort and One Source
- Ability to be hands-on with problem-solving and implementing change.
- Effective communicator across all levels of the organisation
