About the Role

The Structured Lending Solutions (SLS) team leads Mid-Market Financial Sponsor (MMFS) activity within Australia. This role offers unparalleled transaction experience and exposure to a wide array of structures, working closely with Relationship Managers and capital financing specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a complex credit and debt specialist for the CIB business to assist Relationship Managers in originating and executing corporate event and complex lending transactions.
  • Provide support to deliver HSBC’s Australian mid-market and global financial sponsor proposition.
  • Work with CIB and Risk colleagues in constructing appropriate responses to complex lending-related consent requests and stress lending exposures.
  • Position as a CIB conduit to capital financing specialists, particularly in relation to Leverage & Acquisition Finance and Debt Capital Markets teams.
  • Serve as a centre of excellence to assist with technical skill development across the broader CIB business.
  • Support transaction activity by driving conflict check requirements, information controls, and compliance.
  • Take responsibility for portfolio credit monitoring of various mid-market financial sponsor-backed exposures.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in corporate banking, accounting, or finance.
  • Demonstrated track record of writing comprehensive yet concise financial analyses.
  • Demonstrated track record of construction of content-focused pitch books.
  • Ability to review, understand, and summarise corporate financial statements.
  • Proficiency in building and adapting financial models for corporate and event lending scenarios.
  • Awareness of company valuation, capital structuring, and external ratings methodologies.
  • Exposure to structuring and negotiating legal documentation.
  • Ability to manage to tight timelines.
  • Superior attention to detail and a desire to deliver consistent high-quality output.
  • Ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations through superior customer service.
  • Hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
