About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Social Media Producer to join the team behind Australia’s most loved food brands: taste.com.au, Australia’s Best Recipes, and Kidspot Kitchen. In this role, you will work closely with our social media and editorial teams to amplify daily articles, recipes and videos. Utilising social listening tools and web analytics, you will also identify emerging trends to help create and schedule compelling daily content. You will have a passion for content ideation and community management and use your organisational skills to contribute to the growth and success of our massive social media accounts.
Responsibilities
- Execute the daily social media scheduling for taste.com.au, Australia’s Best Recipes, Kidspot Kitchen, and other network brands, ensuring content aligns with brand tone of voice, visual identity and editorial guidelines.
- Grow social referrals and engagement through the creation of clever, scroll-stopping social media content (including graphics, memes, carousels, and simple short-form video cutdowns).
- Research, write, produce, and upload engaging content and posts across social media accounts to drive audience and traffic to our websites.
- Monitor social media platforms to identify new trends, viral audio, and topics.
- Use these insights to devise new social content and present ideas in team meetings.
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media, helping to build thriving on- and off-platform communities.
- Maintain multiple cross-channel content calendars to ensure consistent posting cadences.
- Assist in the production of our social video content, including occasionally filming and featuring in these videos.
- Review our extensive archive of existing content to creative repurpose and package the recipes and articles into new and engaging social formats.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience (1–2 years or a strong relevant internship) in producing social media content and community management for a brand.
- Social media scheduling skills across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
- Knowledge of social media best practices and how to adapt to changes in social media algorithms, including an understanding or awareness of social SEO.
- Experience using social scheduling tools, content management systems, and basic analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
- Basic digital content creation and editing skills using tools like Canva, CapCut, or natively within social media apps.
- A passion for food, home cooking and lifestyle content (no professional food science or recipe creation experience required).
- The ability to engage audiences through innovative and relatable social media content.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail; excellent ability to edit punchy captions.
- A self-starter with the ability to plan, organise, and manage competing deadlines and priorities.
