About the Role
We are adding a Director of Transmission Interconnection Services. This role will lead all aspects of and manage requests for interconnection projects enabling the integration of generation and load into the ERCOT grid. You will work alongside a great team confronting the industry's biggest challenges!
Responsibilities
- Provide management and support to employees, including hiring, training, promoting, delegating assignments, evaluating performance, and addressing all components of supervision.
- Manage LCRA Transmission Services Corp. (TSC) facility interconnection requirements and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Direct overall activities of staff preparing and managing interconnection agreements and related contracts.
- Manage internal and external resources to ensure interconnection study and agreement milestones are timely achieved.
- Lead and sponsor the portfolio of projects and plans to effectively support interconnection requests.
- Act as a representative of LCRA TSC to customers and external collaborators, especially regarding interconnection and system planning issues.
- Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to achieve quality, efficient, and reliable transmission interconnection projects.
Requirements
- Twelve years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection services, engineering or other relevant experience including at least five years of leadership responsibility.
- A degree(s) in math, computer science, engineering, or related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in ERCOT generation and large load interconnection requirements.
- Proven understanding of NERC standards and ERCOT requirements.
- Established experience in drafting and negotiating interconnection agreements.
- Remarkable leadership and oversight capabilities related to transmission interconnection or system planning functions.
- Effective communication skills to represent, field, and respond to customer and developer concerns.
