About the Role
Under the supervision of a physician, provides neurological diagnostic testing and support services to patients and their families. Performs technical procedures including EEG, AEEG, EP, NCV, EMG, AABR, Otoacoustic Emissions, Operative Monitoring, and Transcranial Doppler Studies.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic testing procedures including EEG, AEEG, EP, NCV, EMG, AABR, Otocoustic Emissions, Operative Monitoring, and Transcranial Doppler Studies according to lab standards and technical protocols.
- Educates patients and families on test procedures and gathers appropriate pretest information.
- Operates and maintains all equipment and electrodes safely according to manufacturer specifications.
- Calibrates and troubleshoots equipment.
- Uses good clinical judgment to provide appropriate testing with proper technical parameters and records observations.
- Obtains high-quality records through proper electrode application, patient reassurance, and accurate documentation of medical history and observations.
- Uses professional judgment and creativity to solve problems encountered during testing and modifies the environment for maximal testing.
- Meets performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Requirements
- High School Graduate with emphasis on Physical and Biological Science.
- College degree or coursework preferred.
- Experience in Neurodiagnostics or related area preferred.
- Clinical experience in a medical environment preferred.
- Computer experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
