About the Role
The Crew Lead serves as the on-site leader responsible for supervising technicians and coordinating the installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of security systems. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineered drawings, manufacturer specifications, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Security Systems Technicians on assigned projects.
- Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Install, program, test, and troubleshoot Access Control, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to technicians.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce safety standards.
- Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate project activities with the Security Systems Project Manager.
- Maintain project documentation including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and change orders.
- Serve as the primary on-site customer contact.
- Attend construction and project coordination meetings.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineered drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and MS Project.
- Ability to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk large job sites regularly.
- Ability to distinguish colors and hear audible signals.
- Must meet company minimum driving standards.
- Demonstrated ability to define project scope, create estimates, and manage tasks to completion.
- Proficiency with trade tools including punch tools, crimp tools, and continuity testers.
