About the Role
Dig Inn is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of its restaurant portfolio across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. This role involves managing a facilities specialist and vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely maintenance, repair, and renovation projects. The Facilities Manager will manage the facilities maintenance budget, act as a liaison between operations and external partners, and resolve facilities-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate restaurant-related services, repairs, and maintenance for over 30 assets, including R&M contracts and agreements.
- Manage facilities management software (ResQ).
- Work directly with the Repair and Maintenance Specialist on scheduling, validating work, and escalating services.
- Serve as the primary contact for vendors, inspection services, commercial property management, landlords, and third-party facility management services.
- Prioritize service requests and lead critical facility issues to resolution.
- Communicate repair updates to restaurants and provide feedback.
- Perform routine field audits to identify asset opportunities, validate services, and gather feedback.
- Educate and coach restaurant managers on facility processes, tools, maintenance best practices, basic troubleshooting, and budget compliance.
- Support the new restaurant opening (NRO) process by setting up asset services, auditing buildings, and ensuring quality turnover.
- Ensure all restaurants adhere to local regulatory requirements, including fire safety, commercial kitchen systems, and health department standards.
- Forecast annual budgets and ensure compliance, identifying opportunities to reduce long-term spend.
- Support or lead asset renovation work.
- Provide administrative support for daily work order follow-up, status communication, report creation, budget preparation, project management of small renovations/equipment installs, and inventory maintenance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management or a related field; restaurant facilities experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of general construction, facility services, and maintenance services, including associated costs.
- Knowledge of restaurant mechanicals, kitchen and refrigerator equipment, and local regulatory requirements.
- Experience developing, managing, and tracking budgets.
- Experience using facilities management platforms and strong prioritization skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to resolving issues.
- Proactive and adaptable with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance schedules.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and handle emergency situations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit; self-starter capable of working with minimal direction.
- High level of integrity and ability to build trust.
- Willingness to travel between restaurants, including occasional travel to non-NYC markets.
