About the Role

The Senior Sourcing Engineer drives strategic supply network development and cost management for Anduril's product hardware throughout its lifecycle, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams like engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier selection for specific products using the approved supplier list.
  • Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-offs, Total Cost of Ownership modeling, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical & electronics designs.
  • Drive commercial development and execution of sourcing strategy using market knowledge, supplier rationalization, commodity pricing plans, and efficiency principles.
  • Develop and consolidate manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) with Quality & Manufacturing teams to scale production internally and with suppliers.
  • Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) component procurement to ensure on-time delivery and support manufacturing scale-up.
  • Manage the request for and verification of supplier-related Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) during NPI.
  • Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
  • Complete BOM risk assessments and develop part-specific plans.
  • Oversee component qualifications by relevant stakeholders before production need dates.
  • Reduce supply chain complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization.
  • Lead cost engineering activities to align bottom-up cost curves with product costs, maximizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle.
  • Manage ad-hoc cost issues, including tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.

Requirements

  • Background in design & development of mechanical and/or electronics devices.
  • Experience in advanced sourcing activities, including roles as a commodity/sourcing manager.
  • Experience in supplier development (technology, process, supply chain, etc.).
  • Experience with early supplier engagement before product/engineering requirements are finalized.
  • Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component & product level.
  • Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain an Australian NV1 clearance.
