About the Role
This client-facing advisory role supports the delivery of IFRS & CFO Advisory engagements, providing practical finance, accounting, and reporting support. It requires strong technical research skills, clear written communication, and the ability to translate complex accounting and finance issues into practical advice for clients. The role also involves supporting finance teams in uplifting processes, systems, and reporting outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of IFRS & CFO Advisory engagements across technical accounting, financial reporting, finance function support, and process improvement.
- Assist with the delivery of ongoing lease accounting services for a portfolio of lease management clients, including lease processing and journals under AASB 16.
- Apply IFRS knowledge, including undertaking technical research of standards as required, and assist with the preparation of accounting papers, technical memos, reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables.
- Work with client finance teams to understand current-state processes, identify practical improvement opportunities, and support finance processes or systems uplift initiatives.
- Gather, review, and analyse financial and non-financial information to support reporting, process improvement, and advisory outcomes.
- Prepare clear and professional client correspondence across a range of formats, including emails, reports, memos, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, contributing to high-quality, practical, and commercially focused outcomes.
- Contribute to internal capability building, including the development of tools, templates, methodologies, and training materials where required.
Requirements
- CA qualified or near to completion, with relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
- Demonstrated experience gained in Audit, Business Services, or a similar professional services environment.
- Interest and/or exposure to working with finance teams to improve processes, systems, reporting, and ways of working.
- Interest and/or exposure to working with large data sets that need interpretation using Excel is preferred.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear client correspondence across emails, reports, memos, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, with attention to detail and a practical client-service mindset.
- Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
