About the Role
The Facilitator/Coach's primary responsibility is to facilitate professional learning and provide instructional coaching for educators and school leaders, focusing on implementing high-quality instructional materials and research-based practices. This role is essential for delivering effective professional learning and coaching that drives teacher growth and student success.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate professional learning and provide instructional coaching for educators and school leaders.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions, including feedback cycles and adjustments.
- Provide tailored 1:1 coaching and group learning experiences, both in-person and virtually.
- Build collaborative, trusting relationships with educators and leaders.
- Support data collection, reporting, and reflection processes to measure effectiveness and impact.
Requirements
- Deep experience coaching educators in grades 6-8 math.
- Experience teaching or coaching Illustrative Math, Amplify Desmos Math, Eureka Math and/or enVision Math curricula.
- At least two (2) years of experience as an instructional coach to teachers or school leaders with evidence of impact in student learning outcomes.
- Experience supporting various levels of instruction across classroom settings.
- Strong background in instructional best practices.
- Experience in designing professional development materials or serving as an instructional designer.
- Experience facilitating impactful professional learning and coaching for educators in both virtual and in-person settings.
- Experience building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders in an education context.
- Experience empowering teachers through trusting relationships and supporting shifts in practice and mindset to improve student learning.
- Strong commitment to growth mindset for both adults and students.
- Ability to design and deliver high-quality, evidence-based professional learning.
- Compelling communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects, multiple priorities, and tight timelines.
- Experience providing professional learning support and services in and for consultative organizations.
- Experience supporting dual language and bilingual 6-8 classrooms.
- Discretion and professionalism are essential expectations in every engagement.
- Must have the ability to travel to New York, NY on a weekly basis.
