About the Role
The Rapid Response program provides intensive, short-term, in-home support to families at the point of crisis. Practitioners manage a small caseload of two families, developing safety-focused plans in collaboration with child protection to address immediate needs and build parental strengths.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive, face-to-face support for up to 15 hours per week per family
- Develop safety-focused plans in collaboration with child protection and families
- Address protective concerns using a strengths-based approach
- Utilize coaching and role modelling to build parental skills and knowledge
- Engage quickly with families and assess risk
- Work outside of normal hours to conduct home visits
Requirements
- Professional experience in a therapeutic environment
- Knowledge of complex needs including mental health, AOD, and family violence
- Ability to build rapport using innovative approaches
- Willingness to work flexible hours including before and after standard business hours
- Hold a current Working with Children Check
- Undergo a National Criminal History Check
