About the Role

Director, Data Science Operations sought by Merastar Insurance Company to analyze, estimate, and define data transformation requirements for loading data into EDW, Snowflake, Postgres, and S3. This role involves creating ETL architecture, designing data movement flows, developing database code, and strategizing analytics data solutions and AI model support.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, estimate & define data transformation requirements to load data into EDW, Snowflake, Postgres, S3.
• Create ETL architecture & design flows to illustrate data movement from production to analytics environments.
• Design & develop database code software.
• Analyze projects & make strategy for analytics data solutions & AI model support & deployment.
• Manage ETL & analytics S3 storage projects.
• Lead analytics/data science ETL projects.
• Lead team.
• Evaluate organization's tech. needs, create POCs for new implementation or tech. enhancement & recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related field.
• 10 years of experience in the job offered or as a Database Architect or Data Warehousing Specialist.
• 10 years of experience with SQL and adaptive skills in multiple relational technologies (Redshift, Hive, SparkSQL etc.).
• 8 years of experience with Python data skills with Pandas, and XML/JSON parsing.
• 5 years of experience with AWS technologies: Redshift, Glue, DynamoDB, S3.
• 5 years of experience with streaming platforms such as Spark Streaming, Flink.
• 5 years of experience with workflow managers such as Airflow.
• 5 years of experience with at least one ETL tool such as Informatica, Pentaho, SAP, etc.
• 2 years of experience implementing at scale, messaging systems such as Amazon Kinesis or Apache Kafka.
• 2 years of experience with languages such as Java or Scala.
• Up to 5% short-term, domestic travel may be involved to attend industry conferences.
