About the Role
PATH's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative is seeking a Program Officer to manage the delivery of AI health tools, such as generative AI-based clinical decision support, AI patient simulations for health worker training, and mental health chatbots, from evidence generation to real-world deployment in low- and middle-income countries. This role offers high visibility across the AI for Health team and involves daily collaboration with project leads, funders, and international partners, making it ideal for an early-career project manager interested in global health AI.
Responsibilities
- Drive Project Delivery: Own operational processes, monitor implementation timelines, contract milestones, and payment deadlines, identify and mitigate risks, and support project leadership in course correction and donor updates.
- Support planning and delivery of project meetings, workshops, and partner convenings.
- Manage Partners and Deliverables: Serve as a point of contact for project partners, collect and route deliverables, manage payment processes, and maintain accurate project trackers.
- Coordinate progress reporting to donors, including supporting the development of reports and presentations.
- Quality-check high-visibility deliverables before external distribution.
- Research Operations & Knowledge Management: Oversee research ethics and IRB processes for the AI for Health portfolio, ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
- Manage study records from submission through closeout, including internal and external reviews.
- Ensure approvals remain current and identify potential bottlenecks in review processes.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date, and access-controlled project files.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public health, global health, social sciences, international development, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in program management, project coordination, or a similar role, ideally within a global health or research organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly for diverse audiences.
- High attention to detail, including accurate handling of compliance-sensitive documentation.
- Comfortable collaborating across time zones with international teams and external partners.
- Legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
